VICKIE DAETWYLER
Vickie is the owner of Fairhope Art Guild, LLC. She, her husband, and her small Shih Tzu, Mocha, are residents of Fairhope, Alabama. Vickie has two lovely daughters and two precious granddaughters.
Vickie graduated from college with honors earning a fine arts degree in 1996. She has served in several executive management positions in the recent past. Vickie’s design career included the design of several up-scale hotels (including the flagship hotel of a certain well known chain located in the western United States, a corporate and administrative office building in the Birmingham area, and many high-end residential homes located in Alabama.
While successes have been numerous, Vickie understands that her artistic talent and success has always been a gift from God. Knowing this has kept Vickie humble and loved by those around her. Her sweet smile is real and you immediately recognize that she is absolutely genuine. Vickie loves bringing joy to the lives of everyone she meets.
Vickie, the artist, loves variety in her artwork. Her figurative oil paintings are sometimes portraits of real people and sometimes images from her most imaginative thoughts. She experiments with numerous styles, mediums, and methods. Occasionally, she adds special touches of mixed-media (such as small jewels) to her artwork. In addition to her figurative artwork, she paints pets, landscapes, seascapes, still life, and even abstracts. Vickie’s artwork is typically colorful, bold, vibrant and often "tells" a story. Upon request, Vickie may accept commissions for portraits and other special assignments. Vickie’s favorite medium is oil, but she is no stranger to other mediums as well, such as pastels, watercolors and acrylics.
